The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering (University of Belgrade), The Faculty of Tehnical Science (University of Novi Sad) and University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies- Belgrade organized XIV International conference entitled „Road safety in the local communities-2019“ which took place with great success on the Kopaonik mountain, Serbia on 10-13 April 2019. The topics of the conference were in accordance with the five pillars in the UN Decade of action for road safety 2011-2020. During the conference, road safety knowledge and good practices are exchanged between Western Balkan countries and a numerous strategic documents and global activities were presented.
The monitoring of road safety performance indicators and road users attitudes, establishing of modern approach for road infrastructure safety management, national and local road safety funding, preparing and adopting local strategic documents as well as road safety action plans etc. are emphasized during the conference.
Representatives of international and national road safety bodies, local self-government from Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Republic of Srpska, as well as representatives of FEVR (European Federation of Road Traffic Victims) were among 350 participants of the Conference.
